Why Child dedication?
As a parent, you have the greatest influence in your child’s life—but you don’t have to do it alone. That’s where your church family comes in! Child Dedication is a chance to invite others to walk alongside you, supporting and investing in your child as they grow in their faith.
Parenting comes with a lot of pressure, but you don’t have to carry it all by yourself. When you dedicate your child, you’re making a commitment to lead them toward Jesus, and we’re here to cheer you on every step of the way!

3 Common Questions About Child Dedication
Does my child need to be dedicated to become a Christian?
Nope! Child dedication is an important step, but it’s not the same as salvation. Salvation happens when your child makes the personal decision to follow Jesus, and baptism is their way of going public with that faith. Dedication is less about the decision they’re making now and more about setting them up for the future. It’s a commitment you make as a parent to raise them in a home where they can learn about Jesus and have the opportunity to follow Him when they’re ready. It’s an incredible step—but it’s totally up to you!
Why is child dedication a big deal?
Because it’s more than just a moment—it’s a milestone! When you dedicate your child, you’re committing to raise them in a Christ-centered home and surround them with godly influences. It’s about choosing to be intentional with your parenting—getting plugged into a Propel Group, serving in the church, and showing your kids what it looks like to live generously. And the best part? You don’t have to do it alone. When you dedicate your child, you’re stepping into a partnership with the church, and we’re here to support you every step of the way!
When can I dedicate my child?
That’s totally up to you! At Propel you can dedicate your child from birth to 5th grade. Dedication is about setting the foundation for your family’s faith journey. It’s a way of saying, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15) So take time to pray about it, choose a family verse, define your family values, and surround yourself with people who will help you grow into everything God has called you to be.
