WHAT we're doing

We are going to one large worship experience at 10:00am on Sundays starting August 16th.

WHY WE'RE MAKING THIS MOVE

Our experience needs more room to breathe. We currently run close to 75 minutes every Sunday with roughly 10 minutes before the 5-minute countdown begins. One experience at 10:00am gives us the margin to design the experience we actually want rather than manage the clock we're constrained by.

Critical mass builds culture. When our congregation gathers in one room at one time consistently, the energy compounds, and people feel something together. That is the environment where culture actually takes root, and it's the environment we want to build every single Sunday, not just on the big ones.

Proximity produces community. People cannot do life together if they are never have the space to connect. Gathering everyone into one experience creates consistent overlap, which is the foundation for the kind of care and connection we have been building toward together.

This is an on-ramp to something bigger. Two or three experiences will be our reality in our next facility. We are concentrating our efforts now to best foster community, connection, and growth so that when we expand back out, we do so with times that give us the needed margin required for two experiences.

What's Next?

We are kicking off our new experience time on August 16th at 10am with One Huge Gathering! Beginning that Sunday, our entire church family will all be together in one room, for one experience at 10:00am. After the experience we will have a cookout so that you and your family can enjoy lunch and connect with people you may have never met before. This is also a great opportunity to invite your friends and family to join you!

Churchwide FAQs

It's ok if you have questions! Our team has taken time to think through and plan this transition and wants you to have total clarity as we make this step forward. Check out the answers to some common questions here.

Is this permanent?

No. When we move into our future facility, we will move to either 2 or 3 experiences to best fit our new space and attendance. Right now we have a space that allows for our entire church to meet together in one room and this season will give us the opportunity to develop a deeper sense of community and culture to prepare us for the next season.

Why 10:00am?

10:00am gives us a clean start time that works well for families, removes the rush of back-to-back experiences, and creates margin on both sides of the experience for community to happen naturally.

What happens to people who attended the 9:00 or the 10:30?

We know that many people are in the routine of attending one of our two current experience times and this shift will require an adjustment from everyone. By moving to 10am there will not be a large time adjustment for either group of people and this clean start time will create space before and after the experience for community to happen naturally.

What about people with conflicts at 10:00am?

We acknowledge that any time change creates an adjustment. Our goal is that by communicating this change with you early and clearly, you will have time to adjust your Sunday routine and still make church and connecting with community a priority. For those with genuine conflicts, our online experience remains available.

How will kids ministry be affected?

Propel Kids will be available from 9:45am through the end of the 10:00am experience (approximately 75 minutes in length). Staffing and room capacity are being reviewed in advance to make sure we are fully prepared for the combined attendance in every age group. For those in pre-k and nursery, we are splitting the areas by age to accommodate an increase in kids.

will anything change with what my child is doing in Propel Kids?

No. We will still have the same fun, safe, and creative environment where your kids can learn about Jesus on their level!

What to Expect for the Dream Team

We are so thankful for each of you who make it possible for people to experience Jesus and eternity to be changed week in and week out. We truly couldn’t do it without you. Check out this video from Pastor Nick about how this change impacts you as the Dream Team!

We will still practice sit one, serve one as a team where we encourage you to sit in the experience on the weekends where you are not scheduled to serve. Serving frequencies will vary from team to team but our goal is that everyone is scheduled a maximum of two Sundays a month. Our messages are also uploaded to YouTube on Sunday afternoons for you to watch back.

Will Dream Team Kids still be available?

Yes! We will still have an area with kids team members for Dream Team Kids before and after the experience, including during set up and tear down.

How will scheduling change?

Changes will start to roll out this week (week of July 12th) in Planning Center Services with updated serving and arrival times. Each time will look slightly different as far as serving frequencies and specifics so be on the lookout for messages from your leader in Slack and reach out to them with any questions or scheduling preferences you have.
